Heléne van Aswegen is an artists’ book binder. She collaborates with professional artists in their respective fields (predominantly the visual arts) to co-produce once-off or limited editioned Artists’ Books (also known as Bookworks or Livre d’Artiste). Due to the nature of design and hand binding only a few projects can be taken on every year. Artists are encouraged to contact me and submit a proposal with a view on producing unique bookworks. The nature of these projects are collaborative as Heléne brings to it her knowledge in the field of Book Art as well as design and suitable binding possibilities. At the end of the process the books produced are of very high quality and value. In return the bookworks become revered objects and in many cases are collected by private collectors, libraries and art institutions.
